Questions

Good to know.

What is LactaViva?+

LactaViva is a food supplement with microencapsulated Lacticaseibacillus rhamnosus GG (ATCC 53103), available as capsules and as sachets.

Is it the same strain as Culturelle®?+

Yes — both declare Lacticaseibacillus rhamnosus GG, ATCC 53103. LactaViva is an independent brand, not affiliated with Culturelle®; the comparison refers to the strain only.

What does AFU mean on the label?+

AFU stands for active fluorescent units. Microencapsulated strains need a dedicated method, so viable cells are counted by flow cytometry, a validated variation of ISO 19344:2015.

How is LactaViva taken?+

Capsules: one capsule a day, preferably on an empty stomach. Sachets: one to two sachets a day, stirred into a glass of cold or room-temperature water and taken straight away. Follow the label and your doctor's advice.

How should it be stored?+

In the original pack, dry, away from direct sunlight, below 25 °C and out of reach of children. Shelf life is 2 years.

Who makes LactaViva?+

LactaViva is manufactured in Italy by a specialist probiotic producer and supplied by Lumera FZE, United Arab Emirates.

LactaViva is a food supplement and not a medicine. Food supplements should not replace a varied diet. Do not exceed the recommended daily dose. Consult a doctor before use. Availability, labelling and permitted claims differ by country.
